Mochi, also known as Mochi Gelato or Gelato 47, is a balanced hybrid cannabis strain created by the breeder Sherbinskis in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a cross between the popular strains Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (GSC).

General characteristics

Aroma and flavor: Reminiscent of the Japanese dessert of the same name, Mochi has a sweet, fruity, and creamy aroma with notes of vanilla, berry, and mint. The flavor is often described as creamy and sweet with fruity and earthy undertones, leaving a smooth and minty finish.

Appearance: Mochi plants produce large, dense buds that showcase vibrant green and purple hues, accented by orange hairs and a thick, frosty coating of resinous trichomes.

THC content: Mochi is a potent strain, with THC levels typically ranging from 21% to 29%. It has a very low CBD content, usually less than 1%.

Effects and use

Effects: As a balanced hybrid, Mochi provides a euphoric and uplifting mental high that boosts creativity, followed by a relaxing and soothing body high. It is considered versatile and suitable for use during the day or evening, though higher doses can induce sleepiness.

Potential medical benefits:

Pain management: The anti-inflammatory properties from its caryophyllene terpene may help alleviate chronic pain, inflammation, and muscle tension.

Anxiety and stress relief: Mochi's high THC and calming terpenes can temporarily lift mood and provide relief from stress and anxiety. Lower doses are recommended for users prone to anxiety.

Insomnia: The relaxing and sedative effects at higher doses can help with sleep.

Depression: Its uplifting and euphoric effects may help combat feelings of sadness associated with depression.

Growing information

Difficulty: Mochi is considered moderately difficult to grow and is best suited for growers with some experience.

Cultivation conditions: It prefers a warm, humid, and controlled environment for indoor growing, with proper airflow to prevent mold.

Flowering time: The flowering period is typically 8 to 9 weeks indoors, with outdoor harvests ready in late September to early October.

Yield: Mochi produces moderate to high yields, especially under optimal conditions.
